Valentine’s Day Promotion
Electric Picks Jewelry needed email blast and Instagram story designs to promote their Valentine’s Day sale. Valentine's Day is a holiday dedicated to celebrating love. It's a day to express your affection for the people you love, whether it's a spouse, partner, close friend or family member. With this promotion they were doing a feature called “The Love Shop” on their website that would be showcasing different pieces for the different people in one’s life that they could be celebrating during Valentine’s Day, and this email blast and Instagram stories needed to correspond with the site for a cohesive promotion.
Research
Research for this design started by figuring out which jewelry pieces were going to be showcased. There are many pieces that Electric Picks has that are very popular but some are more specific to the holiday, with heart designs and things like that so I was sure to the include those in my designs.
Color and Type Studies
Electric Picks already has an established brand board with a color scheme, the main one that is used through their platforms being the bright pink. While sticking to these colors that are already a key part of their brand identity, I also incorporated the classic Valentine’s Day colors of reds, pinks and whites. Type studies were also something that was already a key part of EP’s brand so I stayed true to those typefaces in these designs.
Email Blast and Instagram Stories
In this email I chose to use eye-catching images that convey the Valentine's Day theme. This could be an image of hearts, flowers, or heart shaped jewelry and anything else that relates to the holiday while also displaying some their most popular pieces.
Include an attractive display of your Valentine's Day jewelry collection to showcase the variety products, customers can buy during this time. The “Shop Now” button is an easy feature that makes it accessible for user to purchase straight from a link in the email.
The Instagram stories are a great way to engage with customers, as it features pieces they might not have seen before. Showing the same pieces in the email and Instagram stories is also important because it can remind people of a piece, they might have seen in the email for example but got too busy to purchase and seeing it again on another platform will bring it back to their mind.
Impact
The promotional Instagram stories and email blasts designed for Electric Picks’ Valentine’s Day sale is a great way to help boost sales during this time of year when people are searching for gifts. I learned how to incorporate additional colors into a design while also staying true to the current brand colors, and not overpowering the design.
I also learned how to design for social media in a way that would still promote and increase sales, without heavily pushing users to buy, by displaying beautiful pieces, but still creating a design that was interesting to look at with images and graphics.
